Axis Bank Ace Credit Card offers have traditionally lagged behind the competition for credit cards. As a result, Axis has never offered anything new in the market that SBI Card or HDFC Bank already offers. With the introduction of new products, the tide appears to be turning. For all kinds of customers, Axis Bank has a variety of credit cards to choose from. For example, consider the Axis Ace credit card, which has quickly established itself as one of the greatest introductory credit cards available. Last few months, I am using this Axis Bank ACE Card, and I feel it's worth having one. The card offers unlimited cash back, free domestic airport lounge access & a few more. Let's review this wonderful card:

Fees and Charges

The application fee for the Axis Ace credit card is Rs 499 plus GST. Within 45 days of card issuance, Axis Bank waives the joining fees on purchases of Rs. 10,000 or more. The annual charge is Rs 499 + GST, which is waived for annual expenditures above Rs 2 Lakhs. If you can spend 2L on this card, there are no fees. This shouldn't be a problem because of the cashback it offers. Credit card rent payments have become more widespread, making it easier than ever to spend the 2L minimum.

Cashback

There are three levels of reward points on the Axis Bank Ace credit card:

There are no limits on the amount of best cashback credit cards that can be earned in any category. This card's main selling point is its 5% unlimited cash back on your everyday purchases. Entry-level credit cards rarely provide 5% cashback Credit Card cashback with no cap on how much you may earn.

It's also worth, that bill payments using the Google Pay app are eligible for a 5% unlimited cash back. Recurring monthly expenses can be reduced in this way. Unfortunately, only the Android version of Google Pay supports credit card payments at this time. There is no word yet on when this feature will be available on Apple's mobile operating system. So, for the time being, Google Pay customers on iOS cannot benefit from the 5 percent cashback offer.

Fuel purchases, EMI transactions, and wallet loading transactions are not eligible for cashback. No joy for Paytm fans here.

Payment Type Cashback %
Cashback on bill payments (electricity, water, gas, LPG, and broadband), DTH, and mobile recharge through Google Pay* 5%
Swiggy, Zomato and Ola** 4%
All other merchants 2%

According to official Axis ACE terms & conditions cashback shall not be eligible for the following spending/transactions:

  • Fuel Spends
  • EMI transactions
  • Purchases converted to EMI post facto
  • Wallet loading transactions
  • Cash advances
  • Payment of outstanding balances
  • Payment of card fees and other card charges

Rewards Redemption

The best part of Axis Ace is that you don't have to do anything to redeem your rewards points. Credits for cash back earned during a billing cycle are applied three days before the next statement-generation date. Therefore, it is always preferable to receive a 2% monthly cashback credit instead of building up rewards to be redeemed in bulk. The cashback settlement is quite transparent as The Axis Ace statement shows each transaction's merchant type and reward. This is a great idea, and I hope other card issuers follow suit. It saves a great deal of time and effort than doing the calculations by hand.

My View

It's usually a good idea to carry a credit card that provides more value than the annual cost. It has cheap fees, a good cash-back benefit, and an easy fee waiver. Axis Ace credit card ticks all the right boxes. This is why it's the ideal credit card for people just starting.

The 2%, 4%, and 5% rewards cards outperform even the super-premium cards when comparing cashback rates. Google Pay is the primary reason I'm interested in this card. Google Pay's iOS app desperately needs credit card support.

My daily driver for daily costs is now the Axis Bank Ace credit card. Unless, of course, you find a better deal with another credit card.

Credit Card Application Process for Axis Bank

Checking the status of an Axis Bank credit card application online is possible via two methods.
1) Applicant Reference Number (APN) (App ID)
2) Utilizing my phone's PAN card number

Check the status of your Axis Credit Card application by entering your Application ID.

Application ID is a nine- or twenty-digit number generated by the bank during the application process for a credit card if you use a paper application form. The bank will text or email the number to the applicant's registered phone number in most cases. Once you have your application number, you can follow the steps outlined below to find out where your application stands.

Step 1: Visit the Axis Bank Credit Card Online Application Tracking page.
Step 2: Choose "App ID" from the drop-down menu.
Step 3: You must enter your "Application Reference Number" here
Step 4: Click on "Submit"
Step 5: You will see the status of your Axis Bank credit card application.

Conclusion!

Overall, the Axis Bank ACE credit card ranks among the best in its price range. Although the Axis Bank Flipkart Credit Card is also a good competitor, the 2% rewards rate makes a significant difference in the comparison.

No other credit card rewards come with a flat 5% reward on credit card bills. The HDFC Regalia Credit Card and the Yes Premia Cards will face stiff competition from this card shortly.
